       December 2004:

       I went to music school on West 13^th Street between 5^th and 6^th Avenues in New York City's Downtown Manhattan, right near all the important Greenwich Village jazz clubs.  The Blue Note, on 3^rd street between MacDougal Street and 6^th Avenue is a perfect place to start your jazz filled evening.  From there, go on and catch the second set at the historic Village Vanguard on 7^th Avenue and 11^th Street. After the band packs up, you can catch the midnight show at Sweet Rhythm near Bleecker Street.  Late night music can also be heard from the Fat Cat and Bar 55 on Christopher Street in the West Village.  No night is finished, though, without a walk to the East Village to check out Charlie Parker’s home on Avenue B between 9^th and 10^th Streets.   Have fun!
